Review of Angel by Last Sigh Magazine

"Angel" is the debut CD from the Cleveland Ohio duo Doom Patrol. Vocalist Theo and his partner David Eden--who plays all guitars, basses, keyboards and handles programming and some vocals-provide spellbinding beats and stirring synth sounds to think and dance to.

The title track is the first single, and it is a compelling, hypnotic piece perfect for that long, late night drive. "Wicked" employs an addictive beat paired with a catchy chorus. Other notable tracks include the poignant "Belief;" the oddly comforting "Away" and the aptly energetic "Velocity Overkill."

"Lullabye" is a haunting song prominently featuring the vocals. With many of the other tracks emphasizing the instrumental side of the compositions, it's easy to miss the profound philosophical lyrics. "Lullabye" reminds the listener that words can move the mind, just as music moves the body.

Theo and Eden have produced a fresh combination of the best of several genres, from gothic and synth-pop to trance and trip hop. This is a magnificently strong debut. Doom Patrol will be touring the Ohio circuit in support of "Angel."
